What are the Best ways to Clean Wooden Kitchen Cabinets?

It is always nice to have a stunning kitchen along with wooden cabinets in your house as long as you are aware of the liabilities of having one. Well there aren’t numerous difficulties that you have to go through but you just need to realize when to start scrubbing! Generally dust and other forms of dirt take some time to gather around wooden surfaces and thus it doesn’t catch our attention so easily. But would you wait for the day when you’d stand in the middle of the kitchen and say, “why does it look like we have cherry cabinets?”

  • Take out all the items from the wooden cabinets, especially the ones that you rarely use and wash them to get rid of the dust layer that had been blemishing your costly utensils for a long time. Since your grime coated wooden cabinets are not looking at their best, use some shelf paper as a substitute after the cleaning is over. After all the main purpose is to make your wooden cabinet look brand new, isn’t it?
  • You can use the cleansers that are available in the market like the Murphy's Oil Soap or Lysol All Purpose Cleaner irrespective of the type of wood that your cabinet is made up of. But these cleansers are quite expensive and thus you might be inclined to prepare a cleanser all by yourself. Use one part of lemon juice to two parts of olive oil and with the help of a rag, rub the cleanser into the cabinet. During the process of running the soap on the wooden surface, rub out the scratches or nicks that you’d find and polish the blemishes that you come across. If you find any cracks or crevices, use your fingernails to clean up the tarnished spots.
  • After you have run the soap smoothly over the wooden surface in detail, wet the rag in hot and clean water and then rinse the soap from the surface of the wooden cabinets. Refrain from scrubbing too hard as this can damage the quality of the wood which you would not really want. So be firm and gentle while washing the wooden surface with clean water to wipe off the remaining dust from the cabinet.

Always be slow and detailed while cleaning the dust patches from your wooden cabinet. When you are done with the cleaning, remove the shelf paper and arrange the items like before. By the time you finish your chore, your kitchen shall be glistening with brand new wooden cabinets.
